Throughout the year, members get together for special events including:
Annual Ice Cream Social
Enjoy ice cream and homemade treats while participating in a silent auction featuring rocks, minerals, jewelry, and other treasures.
Annual Cookout
The club provides the meat, members bring side dishes, and everyone enjoys a day of good food and fellowship. The event may also feature a live auction of donated rocks, minerals, equipment, and other treasures.
Annual Christmas Party
A traditional LGMS gathering featuring good food, fellowship, games, and plenty of holiday spirit.
Our Annual Gem & Mineral Show
The LGMS Annual Gem & Mineral Show brings together vendors, collectors, artists, educational displays, demonstrations, and activities for the public.
Members have opportunities to volunteer, participate, display their collections, demonstrate their skills, and help introduce new people to the fascinating world of gems and minerals.

Who Can Join?
Anyone!
You don't have to be a geologist.
You don't have to be an experienced collector.
You don't have to own expensive equipment.
You don't even have to know what you've found.
If you enjoy rocks, minerals, fossils, gemstones, geology, lapidary work, jewelry making, or simply exploring the outdoors and discovering interesting things, you'll fit right in.
Families, beginners, experienced collectors, students, artists, and longtime rockhounds are all welcome.
